Robert Moon Reviews @FogCitysf
With Joel Riddell at the newly renovated Fog City restaurant! Fantastic renovation! Our first courses just arrived! Oh Diddly! Chilled cucumber pickles with Fog City Ranch and dill! The hand cut Furikake fries with garlic aioli ...sumptuous! The blistered Mariquita Farm peppers with Korean sea salt are rolling into my area of bliss! Par excellence, I cry with my lil' ol' glass of Pinot Grigio from Forenzo in Mendocino! Mmmmmm
PHANTASMIGORICAL? Absolutely!!!!! Hamachi Crudo with pickled watermelon, ginger, jalapeño, cucumbers, and lemon olive oil!
Let's talk pork cheeks, baby! Not only do they make you feel like pinching them (get your mind outta da guttuh), eating these tender morsels that melt in your mouth will make you sing like Julie Andrews..."The hills are alive...". Garnished with bacon braised Romano beans, hatch chilies, forest mushrooms and soft polenta, and you got curtain sashes! Poor Mary having to give up her lamb to be grilled an skewered for our party going palates with tomatoes, red onion, lemon, vadouvan yogurt, and butter lettuce cups...lucky us; and that Grilled Mission Fig salad! Them poor baby lettuces giving up their lives for my dinner...joyous! Snap snap I say! Snap snap!
Oops! You really don't want to know. See no evil...remember?
The original Fog City Diner, which opened in 1985 and closed for renovations in March, has been completely re-imagined by renowned Chef/Owner Bruce Hill and its founders, Bill Higgins and Bill Upson.
