San Francisco, Ca. – May 9, 2012 NewsTalk 910 AM KKSF announced today that Gil Gross will join its weekday afternoon programming line-up and John Rothmann will join the station as a Political Analyst.  Both positions will be effective immediately.

The Gil Gross Show will air weekdays from 4-7:00 p.m. following the Len Tillem Show, making the two programs San Francisco’s only local afternoon talk shows.  The Gil Gross Show will move to the time slot previously slated for The Gene Burns Program. Burns is recovering from a stroke he suffered last December.  NewsTalk 910 will continue to be Burns’ radio home in San Francisco, featuring his blog on NewsTalk910.com.  Rosie Allen and Ed Baxter, San Francisco news and talk veterans who have been filling in for Burns, will continue with NewsTalk 910 as guest-hosts and blog contributors.   Baxter’s Making Sense feature will air daily on the station.  In addition, Joel Riddell will continue hosting Burns’ signature Dining Around program on Saturdays.

John Rothmann, noted author and broadcaster, will join NewsTalk 910 as a Political Analyst.  He will contribute political content to the station’s newscasts and talk shows.  Rothmann will also host the station’s 2012 election coverage.

“I’m thrilled to have Gil Gross aboard full-time for the Bay’s only live and local afternoon drive talk shows.  With his extensive background in network news, everyone in news/talk radio knows the name Gil Gross. I couldn’t be happier to have KKSF be his new home,” said Don Parker, Director of Operations, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment San Francisco.  “NewsTalk 910 has been very fortunate to have the highest caliber of talent filling in for Gene Burns since January.  I’d like to thank John Rothman, Ed Baxter and Rosie Allen for their contributions and for continuing to play a role on NewsTalk 910 moving forward.”

“I have enjoyed listening to Gil Gross and the rest of NewsTalk 910’s all-star line-up over these past few months,” said Burns.  “With so many things going on around the world and our own upcoming election, I look forward to listening and discussing today’s most important issues on NewsTalk 910.”

“I am thrilled to keep the live, local talk flame alive in the Bay area.  From the Occupy movement to Oscar Grant or the struggles of our economy, it's important for the Bay area to have a platform to discuss today’s most pressing topics,” said Gross.   “I look forward to having my friend and colleague, Gene Burns, back in the line-up.  I also look forward to building the future at NewsTalk 910, a unique station that will not be one point of view all day long.”
