The 49ers have become the first NFL team to do an "It's Get Better" video; which is great, although, it seems that the only reason they did it is because of an online petition that got more than 16,000 signatures. The video features Safety Donte Whitner, Defensive Tackle Ricky Jean Francois, Defensive Tackle Isaac Sopoaga, and Linebacker Ahmad Brooks.
I'm not saying they don't believe in the message or wouldn't have done one anyway. It reminds of when a past girlfriend of mine who always complained that I didn't buy her flowers*. When I finally bought her some, even though I wanted to, the sentiment still felt like I was forced to.
*I'm not a jerk, I just didn't have much money and flowers die in a couple of days. And once you start buying flowers regularly, you can't stop, or else you're the jerk who stopped buying her flowers.
