The former dynamic mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom, who was once a national face for the rights of same sex couples, allowing them to marry in The City, is now the Lt. Governor of California - a position he once mocked on a morning radio show - and handling important issues like if the new logo for the University of California system reflects the spirit of higher education that it demands.
He even wrote an official letter to the president of the UC system. At least he was able to throw in a jab about tuition being too high.
Instead of being creative with the University of California logo, we should be searching for creative solutions for funding the University of California.
